Who We Are

"Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much."

-Helen Keller

We are a team of passionate Jewish and Muslim students from NYC public high schools. Since October 7th, we have felt Antisemitism and Islamophobia rise in our school and online communities, and were first-hand witnesses to the deepening division between the Jewish and Muslim communities around us. As we heard about incidents of hate from our classmates, read about it in our school newspaper, and clicked through dozens of stories and posts rooted in hate posted by those in our school community, we knew our school communities needed change; change that only we could create for ourselves. The Together Project was founded from seeds of hope amidst a fog of hate: hope that we could use the very words and voices we'd been using to further conflict for unity and togetherness instead.
