Start a Branch at Your NYC School!
Branches at schools are led by two students or Branch Leaders, one with a strong religious or cultural connection to Judaism, and the other, to Islam, meaning while members of the clubs at schools don't have to be Jewish or Muslim, Branch Leaders are. Branch Leaders lead 2-4 meetings a month for students at their school to discuss topics ranging from religion, to history, to the war, to identity, to heritage. Branch Leaders will be trained in conflict resolution, facilitating difficult discussions, and helping students stay on track to reach points of understanding and empathy. All branches follow the same curriculum, and will discuss the same topics and ideas throughout the year; however, because each meeting is completely discourse and dialogue based, meetings are in the hands of Branch Leaders. Branch Leaders will also have more opportunities to participate in city-wide conferences. The Together Project presidents and vice-presidents will be working closely with all Branch Leaders each month to ensure that all branches are meeting goals and running smoothly.
